Detailed itinerary:

Day 1: Touchdown + Noah’s Arc of Africa

Touchdown Nairobi!

You’ll be greeted at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our team. After a briefing, we’ll head to Aberdares,  a beautiful mountain range in the central highlands of Kenya.

With towering mountains, dense rainforests, thickets of bamboo, cascading rivers and waterfalls, the Aberdares has a diverse ecosystem, rich in wildlife that includes elephants, rare monkeys, leopards and lions.

After arriving at the Aberdare Country Club, check-in and unwind.

Post lunch: pack your bags light, to stay at a  lodge that is uniquely shaped to resemble the fabled Noah’s Ark (don’t worry, you won’t be sharing rooms with wild animals).

Designed with decks that have numerous balconies and lounges, this lodge provides a superb vantage point for viewing wildlife, overlooking a frequented watering hole that is illuminated with floodlights. You’ll have the opportunity to spot herds of elephants, buffaloes and other mammals, both large and small.

Plus: there will be a buzzer to wake you up at night, so that you don’t miss out on witnessing ‘special’ animals arriving at the waterhole.

Day 2: Game Drive + Sanctuary of Chimpanzees

Start this day by having breakfast at the lodge, whilst observing wildlife near the waterhole.

Then, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel to meet your driver and guide. Collect your bags from the hotel and get ready for a road trip to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes).

Located on the foothills of Mount Kenya, the region has fertile soils, beautiful scenery and is very popular for safaris; all the ‘Big Five’ of Africa-the lion, Cape buffalo, African elephant, leopard and rhinoceros - can be found here.

After arriving at the Ol Pejeta, check-in at your camp, have lunch and relax.

In the afternoon: it’s time for a safari! Get your cameras ready as we drive through the open grasslands, with Mount Kenya as the backdrop.

Inside the conservancy, we’ll also visit the Sweetwaters Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees. The sanctuary is a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees and you’ll be able to observe these intelligent creatures and their antics.

Day 3: Flamingos in Lake Nakuru National Park

We’ll start with an early morning game drive, as we set out to watch the sunrise and spot more wildlife on the grasslands.

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll drive down to the Great Rift valley and arrive at the Lake Nakuru National Park.

Arrive at your lodge and have lunch.

Then: a game drive around the park. Get ready for a beautiful spectacle as we drive to Lake Nakuru - an ocean of pink awaits you! Flamingos often gather in the millions, filling the air with theirs sounds, as they call and wade through the shallow lake.

Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve

This morning, after an early breakfast, we’ll check out from our hotel and drive through the town of Narok, until we reach the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. It is perhaps one of the few regions left in Africa where you’ll find wildlife in exceptional abundance, with hundreds of thousands of zebras, plenty of lions, leopards, cheetahs and of course, hordes of wildebeests grazing and galloping in herds.

En-route: we’ll take a break for a picnic and have lunch.

Day 5: Meet the Masai + Dinner under the African sky

In the afternoon: another game drive! It’s quite common and easy to spot the ‘Big Five’ in the Masai Mara, so keep your eyes open and cameras ready as we drive our way through bushes and open plains.

Later: Arrive at your camp, check-in and relax.

Early this morning: an optional hot air balloon safari. Climb into the basket and drift upwards over the Mara just as the sun rises. From this unique vantage, you'll be able to spot gazelles galloping across the grasslands, herds of elephants and zebras going about their morning routine. It's truly spectacular. (Please note that this is an optional activity at an additional price of INR 37,200.00/person plus service tax for 1 person including transfers to and from the lodge).

Spend the whole day exploring the Masai Mara.

We’ll drive through plains and rolling hills for fascinating views of the savanna. The month of December brings with it light showers, adding new life to the plains that attracts more wildlife. And if you’re lucky, you might also spot some action- with glimpses of lions, cheetahs and other predators prowling in their hunting grounds.

In the evening: if weather permits, you’re in for a truly magical experience - a private feast with the Masai.

We’ll head out to a Masai Boma (settlement) where we’ll have dinner under the open African sky. Meet, greet and have conversations with the friendly Masai people, discussing about how they manage and protect their lands and the wildlife. And after your feast, there’ll be some entertainment too, with these scarlet-robed warriors chanting and performing their traditional dance under the moonlight.

Day 6: Depart

After breakfast, we’ll check out and drive back to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. Arrive at the city and head to a restaurant where we’ll have lunch.

In the afternoon: unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
