As the bustling capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka encapsulates the heart and soul of the nation's vibrant culture and dynamic spirit. From its bustling markets, where a symphony of vendors and shoppers weaves intricate patterns, to its historic landmarks that bear witness to centuries of heritage, Dhaka is a playground for photographers seeking to capture the essence of a city that never sleeps. Here, modern skyscrapers stand juxtaposed against centuries-old architecture, creating a visual narrative that mirrors the city's evolution. Join us on this photographic odyssey through Dhaka's bustling streets, cultural treasures, and hidden corners as we unravel the stories that make this city a dynamic mosaic of life, energy, and endless inspiration.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Dhaka, Bangladesh  

We check into our hotel. After lunch we will begin with a tour of old Dhaka recording the local culture, customs and lifestyle. We will photograph the rickshaw drivers as they wait for their fares.The flight into the Himalayas reveals breathtaking view of the World highest peaks, taking you right into the Dragon kingdom cloud scraping airstrips at the lush green valley of Paro.

Day 02: In Dhaka

After breakfast we will head down to the Buriganga River to photograph daily life including riverside life, people crossing in small boats, and boat making. We will then head to a shipyard to photograph the craftsmen building and repairing boats in the traditional fashion. After lunch we will spend some more time at the shipyard before heading back to the hotel.

Day 03: In Dhaka

After breakfast we head to a location where local coal workers, both men and women, offload coal from river barges, carrying it in baskets on their heads. After lunch we will head into a Hindu neighborhood where they practice a devotional ritual which involves praying until a candle burns out.

Day 04: Dhaka to Chittagong

After breakfast we check out of our hotel start the drive to Chittagong. We visit another brick factory followed by a photo session where men and women are unloading sand and bricks from cargo vessels.

Day 05: Chittagong to Cox Bazaar

At dawn we will head down to the coast where we will photograph fishermen unloading fish, fishing from boats, repairing fishing nets, and selling their catch at a wholesale fish market before heading back to the hotel for breakfast. After checking out of the hotel we will visit aluminum factories, where we will see workers making pots by hand.

Day 06: In Cox Bazaar

After breakfast we drive to a fishing village where we will photograph the locals including women and children preparing fish for drying. Later in the afternoon we visit another coastal fishing village where we will photograph fishermen unloading their catches from boats and transporting them by hand to the village for drying. 

Day 07: Cox Bazaar to Dhaka and Departure

Dawn photography at a wholesale fishing market and port. After breakfast at the hotel we check out and head to the airport for our flight back to Dhaka. On arrival connect to your flight back home.

  • Bring your own laptop and storage media
  • DSLR /Mirrorless Camera body(s)
  • Lenses: 16-35mm, 24-70mm zoom and 70-200mm zoom; similar lenses are very good
  • Light bag for easy walking with camera bodies and accessories
  • Cleaning kit for cameras and lenses
  • Rain/dust covers for cameras and lenses
  • Charger for batteries
  • Spare batteries
  • Spare Memory cards
  • Memory card reader


INCLUSIONS:

--  Accommodation based on twin sharing rooms for 06 nights.

-- All meals starting from lunch on arrival till breakfast on departure.

-- Transport: We will be using a mini van throughout the trip.

--  All currently applicable taxes.

-- International and Domestic Flights

-- Anything not mentioned in the program or “Inclusions”
